Worcester Heart
Support Group
Supporting those living with a heart related condition.
Our Aims and Objectives are:-
To promote and maintain contact with people who have, or have had, heart problems, their families and carers. To offer appropriate, non financial, support and advice where needed, primarily through membership of the WHSG. This help to be provided as soon as possible following discharge from hospital.
To support the aims and work of the British Heart Foundation (BHF). Through the monthly meeting, and twice yearly Newsletter, to ensure that WHSG members are kept informed of new practices, and developments that are reported in the BHF Newsletter, and other relevant documentation.
To undertake fundraising with the object of providing equipment, or other or other resources that will benefit current, or potential heart patients, and those that have survived heart disease and surgery. The funds to be donated to relevant organisations and groups, including the BHF and NHS.
To organise a monthly programme for members of a variety of social activities. These include talks on general interest, or health related subjects, meals and games. In addition to these, to promote excersise classes, and to arrange short walks.
Don't be afraid. You are not alone. WHSG aims to support you and your wife, husband, partner or carer. The group will empathise with you, and and while they cannot answer medical questions, they can listen and talk about their experiences, and will help you to look forward and take a positive attitude to life.
Membership is open to anyone who has had a heart problem, together with their family, and to all who agree with our aims and objectives. Annual Membership Fee is £10 per couple, or £5 for single membership.
WE HOLD MEETINGS ON THE THIRD MONDAY IN THE MONTH FROM 2.15 pm AT:-

ST MARKS CHURCH HALL, OFF BATH ROAD, WORCESTER, WR5  3DW.
PLEASE NOTE: No meetings in January and August.
